Welcome

Let me just start by saying that I am very excited to share this platform with you! It’s been a long time coming. I’ve been so wrapped up in creating the perfect website, that I found myself constantly putting it off (aka not creating a website at all). It wasn’t until I read Jen Sincero’s You Are A Badass, that I realized that done is better than perfect.

“IN ORDER TO KICK ASS, YOU MUST FIRST LIFT UP YOUR FOOT.”

A little backstory… In September of 2016, I decided to quit my full-time job. Rip off the bandaid. Cut the cord. C’est la vie. If I was ever going to leave the world of retail, this was my chance. Not in a year, not as soon my credit cards were paid off or I could afford a new car (which would have taken a lifetime on my salary), but right now. I checked in shipment for the last time, updated window displays for the last time, and clocked out for the last time.

GOODBYE STABILITY, HELLO FREELANCE CAREER?

It didn’t take me long to realize that unemployment is not as fun as it sounds, for extended periods of time anyway. And that finding a creative job is seemingly impossible for a 20-something-year-old living in Los Angeles, CA… or at least that’s what I kept telling myself.

As soon as I decided to ditch the negative mindset and stop telling myself that I didn’t deserve a life full of abundance, opportunities began to present themselves. Over the past few months, I have worked for an events company on gigs in both Los Angeles and New York. I have collaborated with some of my personal influences, and most importantly I have been shooting a TON – which is what I am most passionate about. There have definitely been ups and downs, and a lot of self doubt, but saying goodbye to my unsatisfied self has also been the most rewarding and the most eye opening mile marker in my adult career.

So if you’re debating inviting a little change into your life, regardless of how big or small, I encourage you to follow your intuition.
